Indira Gandhi National Open University, known as IGNOU, is a public open & distance learning university located in Delhi, India. Named after the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, the university was established in 1985 with a budget of ₹ 20 million, after the Parliament of India passed the Indira Gandhi National Open University Act, 1985 (IGNOU Act 1985). [4]
It also has an Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) study centre [4]. The students are encouraged to join Certificate Programmes and Degree Programmes offered by IGNOU. Arya Vidyapeeth College has a Study Centre under IGNOU, providing distance learning opportunities. Additionally, the institution was recognized as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and various projects have been undertaken as part of this recognition.
The college was founded in 1967 by Delhi Sikhs Gurudwara Management Committee.
