Mendon is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 6,228 at the 2020 census . [ 1 ] Mendon is part of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor , an early center of the industrial revolution in the United States .
The district has residential buildings dating from the 18th to the mid-20th centuries, in a wide variety of styles. The focal point of the town center is the Second Unitarian Church, an 1820 building designed by Worcester architect Elias Carter. It includes an area roughly surrounding Butler, Canal, Church, County, Ives, Main, Mendon, Old Mendon, and School Streets. The district includes a wide variety of worker housing, as well as a granite storehouse, the only surviving company structure.
