Between 1909 and 2003, it was an American company specialising in aluminium cookware called Mirro Aluminum Company , based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin .

Metal Ware Corporation was co-founded by Joseph Koenig, who also founded the Mirro Aluminum Company and William H Ellis II. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] Metal Ware filed for incorporation on August 18, 1920. [ 3 ] The company was a successor to Two Rivers Plating which was founded by Henry Mixa in 1902.
In late 1989, the Vollrath Company purchased the Leyse commercial aluminum cookware line from General Housewares Corporation, Stamford, Connecticut.
