The SCDF Marine Division is a division of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) that is in-charge of marine fire and rescue operations in Singapore waters. Its duties include the marine firefighting and maritime search and rescue operations in collaboration with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
By 2019, the SCDF Marine Division had retired some old fireboats, and added six new modern vessels, bringing the size of the firefighting fleet to eight vessels. [14] [15] One of the new vessels, the Red Sailfish, is the most powerful fireboat in the world so far. Three vessels are pumper, decontamination and evacuation specialist fireboats.
In May 2017 the SCDF Marine Division acquired two new fireboats, the Red Swordfish and the Blue Swordfish. [5] The two vessels are high speed fireboats that can project 5,000 litres (1,100 imp gal) per minute. Their maximum speed is 40 knots (74 km/h)
