Idaho Central Arena (originally Bank of America Centre, formerly Qwest Arena and CenturyLink Arena) is a multi-purpose arena in the western United States, located in Boise, Idaho. Its seating capacity is 5,002 for ice hockey , 5,300 for basketball , 5,732 for end-stage concerts , 6,400 for boxing , and up to 6,800 for center-stage concerts.
The arena's naming rights were awarded to Idaho Central Credit Union on a 35-year deal following a $10 million gift to the university to assist with the construction. [ 1 ] [ 7 ] Additionally, the university named the playing surface Bud Ford Court following Ford's donation of $2.5 million towards the construction of the new arena.
Merrimack Men's Basketball played their first ever game at Lawler Arena during the 2021-22 season when they hosted Lehigh. Since then the arena has become a two-sport venue with the ability to change between hockey and basketball like many NHL/NBA arenas. [5] Merrimack vs FDU Basketball Jan 2024
