Delaware State University (DSU or Del State) is a privately governed, state-assisted historically black land-grant research university in Dover, Delaware. DSU also has two satellite campuses: one in Wilmington and one in Georgetown. The university encompasses four colleges and a diverse population of undergraduate and advanced-degree students.

The Delaware State Hornets are the eighteen sports teams representing Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country running, tennis, and track and field; women's-only bowling, softball, and volleyball; and men's-only baseball.
Delaware State went 1-11 in 2024. Its only win came Aug. 31 against Sacred Heart and the team lost its last 10 games of the season. All but two of the Hornets’ losses came by double digits.
