Hello, Is it possible to emulate Windows XP in Windows 10 without using VirtualBox, please? Thank you
I've been trying to run an XP game on win 11 and beside compatibility issues that I'd rather exclude, it changes the resolution to 600x480 and then crashes. I looked up on the event viewer and it seems clear that it has something to do with my GPU's software NvAPI. It claims "NVAPI_OUT_OF_MEMORY", it seems impossible though (12 GB).
I have an amateur radio (ham radio) program that will not run on any operating system newer than Windows XP. The Windows 7 Professional emulation program was distributed by Microsoft and it worked very well. Basically, it divided the hard drive into two sections: one section for Windows 10 Professional and the other section for XP.
Right-click the program then "Properties". go to compatibility and run this program in compatibility mode for. "Windows XP Service Pack 3". Click on "Apply". you can try this compatibility settings if the program has an installer (before installation) or the exe file you open to run the program if it is already installed.

There is also another compatibility option geared towards IT professionals and business users which is called "Windows XP Mode," which is essentially a fully-licensed copy of Windows XP Professional running inside of a virtual machine and is only available to Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise, and Windows 7 Ultimate users.
Since I don't know what kind of new computer you have, all I can give you is the general suggestion to: 1. Purchase a second hard drive and install XP on it. 2. If your old XP disk (assuming you can find it) was OEM (from a Dell, HP, eMachines, etc. type of computer) it was tied to the old computer anyway. Purchase a new retail copy of XP from ...
Report abuse. Both a stand-alone installation of Windows XP and a virtual instance of Windows XP running as "XP Mode" on Windows 7 (or in another virtual machine) will "run" after April 8, 2014. After that date there will be no more security patches (or other updates) and thus any such instance of XP connected to the Internet will become ...
