The school's library was shared with the Scottsdale Public Library system as the Palomino Branch Library until 2020. It opened with the rest of the school in August 1995. The library features 18,000 square feet (1,700 m 2) of space. At the time of its opening, the then-50,000-volume collection was 60% owned by the library and 40% by the school.
The schoolhouse was later used as the Scottsdale City Hall and Justice Court, the Scottsdale Public Library and then the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce. The Scottsdale Historical Society was established in 1969 to save the Little Red Schoolhouse from being demolished for the development of the Scottsdale Mall.
