Kenton County is a county located in the northern part of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census , the population was 169,064, [ 1 ] making it the third most populous county in Kentucky (behind Jefferson County and Fayette County ).
Public education within much of Covington is provided by Covington Independent Public Schools, the largest independent school district in Kentucky. [25] Its high school, Holmes Junior/Senior High School, is the oldest public high school in the state. Southern portions of the city are in the Kenton County School District. [26]
The William E. Durr branch of the Kenton County Public Library is located in the Nicholson area. Opened in January 2007, it replaced the Independence Branch (1994–2006) on Taylor Mill Road. Its collection includes over 100,000 items.
Edgewood is a home rule–class city [5] in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 8,435 at the 2020 census. It was named for an early homestead in Walker Estates. [6] Edgewood was incorporated by act of the state assembly on November 15, 1948. Part of what was early Edgewood was called South Ft Mitchell.

An eastern strip of the city runs along the west side of the Licking River, which forms the border of Kenton County. Across the river in Campbell County are the cities of Wilder and Cold Spring. Interstate 275, the beltway around Cincinnati, passes through the northern part of Taylor Mill, with access from Exit 79 (Kentucky Route 16).
Park Hills is a home rule-class city [6] in Kenton County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 3,162 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.
