Taraka Ratna married Alekhya Reddy, a divorcee, on August 2, 2012 at the Sanghi Temple. She was a costume designer in one of his films where they met and fell in love. Alekhya Punjala is a Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam dancer from Telangana. She began her dance studies at the age of four while studying in a Montessori school in Hyderabad, under Dayal Sharan, the dance teacher of the school.
