The Woods (Polish: W głębi lasu) is a Polish mystery thriller television miniseries, based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Harlan Coben. [1] The series premiered on Netflix on 12 June 2020. It is the second Polish-language series produced for Netflix, after 1983 .
The first series, consisting of eight episodes, is adapted from In the Woods (2007) and The Likeness (2008). Broadcast began on BBC One on 14 October 2019, on RTÉ One on 16 October 2019 and on Starz on 10 November 2019. The series ended in the UK with episode 8, broadcast on 5 November 2019, watched by 4.58 million UK viewers.
It is revealed that Woods' CI was the person who actually committed the murder, and that Woods had told his CI to say that a man who Woods had targeted multiple times over the years had done it. He is stripped of his police powers by the Superintendent as a result, and all of his previous cases were investigated to check if they were by the book.
