The final car to use K-Jetronic was the 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6. Fuel is pumped from the tank to a large control valve called a fuel distributor, which divides the single fuel supply line from the tank into smaller lines, one for each injector.
A low injection pressure results in a low relative air-fuel velocity, which causes large, and slowly vapourising fuel droplets. [8] Therefore, the injection timing has to be precise to minimise unburnt fuel (and thus HC emissions). Because of this, continuously injecting systems such as the Bosch K-Jetronic are obsolete. [1]
In 1974, Bosch introduced the K-Jetronic system, which used a continuous flow of fuel from the injectors (rather than the pulsed flow of the D-Jetronic system). K-Jetronic was a mechanical injection system, using a plunger actuated by the intake manifold pressure which then controlled the fuel flow to the injectors. [55]
The use of K-Jetronic CIS Bosch fuel injection in two of the three models in the line up— the 911 and 911S models, retaining the narrow rear wings of the old 2.4, now had a detuned version of the RS engine producing 150 and 175 PS (110 and 129 kW; 148 and 173 hp) respectively.
The M110.98x and .99x engines are fuel-injected engines, with Bosch D-Jetronic up to the .983 and K-Jetronic from the .984. All M110 engines have a displacement of 2.7 L; 167.6 cu in (2,746 cc) and a bore and stroke of 86 mm × 78.8 mm (3.39 in × 3.10 in). Firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Amount of coolant in the radiator was 11 litres (2.9 US gal ...
E - high compression, no catalyst, mechanical fuel injection K-Jetronic; BxxET - K-Jetronic turbo; B2xxET - Motronic controlled electronic fuel injection, turbo. F - low compression (9.8:1 on B230F, 9.5:1 on B280F, 10.0:1 on B234F and 10.7:1 on B204F), US/Europe version (F for Federal) with catalytic converter. Europe/APAC version, fuel ...
A 2.0 L multi-point fuel-injected (KE-Jetronic) variation of the M102.921. An "E" was added to the model of the vehicle (standing for "einspritzung", the German word for fuel injection). This engine is identified by TSZ ignition and multiple belts for the alternator, power steering and air conditioning compressor (where fitted).
The M20 first became fuel-injected in 1981, [21] with Bosch K-Jetronic used in a 92 kW (123 hp) version called the M20B20KE. [22] The compression ratio was raised to 9.9:1. In September 1982 (coinciding with the release of the E30 3 Series), the fuel injection was updated to LE-Jetronic with a redline of 6,200 rpm. Other upgrades included a ...
