The school is not a candidate for the Pac-12 or Big 12 expansion and due to travel costs, seems content with all other sports in the Big West. Aug 27, 2024. #6. 2330859 said: Actually it’s the same motivation that explains the BIG having an interest in FSU; the expansion of conferences is becoming more competitive and if one conference expands, it prompts other conferences to catch up. As for the Big Ten, well they do have Academic elitists. We aren’t a football power so that isn’t in our favor. If going down the list, they’d probably go for UNC and UVA. But you get to the point of diminishing returns with more teams. The Big 12 is where we’ll end up and it’ll be a good fit.

The BIG 10 has followed that same direction as well and enjoyed similar results. The question is whether the ACC, or for that matter the BIG 12 want to try and catch up to them? There are a lot of viable candidates for further expansion out there, but the first thing the ACC must do, is to resolve the differences that exist within its own ...

  11. Top 5 worst college realignment decisions of all time
