Borne (Dutch pronunciation: ⓘ; Tweants: Boorn) is a municipality and a town in the eastern Netherlands, in the region of Twente. Its inhabitants also have the nickname Melbuul (flour bag in Twentsch ).
Born is also the site of the car factory VDL Nedcar and the headquarters and European Distribution Center of Mitsubishi Motors Europe. Until 2001, Born was a separate municipality (population about 15,000), that included the villages Born, Buchten [ nl ] , Holtum [ nl ] , Grevenbicht , Papenhoven [ nl ] and Obbicht [ nl ] .
The village was first mentioned in 1475 as Bornerbroeck, and means "swampy land near Borne". The suffix -broek in the village name is a reference to a marsh in the vicinity of the village. [4] Bornerbroek was home to 570 people in 1840. [3] The current St Stephen's church was built in 1857. It has a tower with a constricted spire.

Born (Luxembourgish: Bur meaning spring or fountain, French: Born-sur-Sûre, German: Born an der Sauer) is a village on the River Sauer in the commune of Mompach, in eastern Luxembourg. It lies on the N10, 14 km (9 mi) south of Echternach and 8 km (5 mi) north of Wasserbillig .
