That extension will apply at the end of the membership. If you have a pre-paid membership, your end date will be extended to cover the amount of time the clubs are closed in your area. I still think charging through April 15th is bullshit. My billing date is on the 11th. They also updated their homepage with a direct link to cancel your membership.

Has anyone been able to successfully freeze or cancel their 24 hour gym membership? I haven’t tried to freeze/cancel my LA Fitness membership yet, and would love to hear anyone’s experience with that as well. TLDR: Fiancé has been unable to freeze or cancel 24 hour fitness membership and is being charged $50 per month when all gyms are closed.
Maybe they will make an exception if enough people complain that 24 Hour is making it impossible to cancel. UPDATE: If you call 1-888-243-5002 and answser "No" that you aren't a current member and "Purchase" to the second question, you can get through and then cancel. For those of you with the desire to cancel you can go to 24hourfitness.com, click on the link and follow the instructions to submit your request to cancel. The $600 I paid 15 years ago for a $50/year lifetime membership was one if the best investments I ever made. THANK YOU!!
Like the title says, I have 24 hour fitness membership. I have a month to month membership and autopay enabled to my credit card. The gyms are closed, but we are still being charged. An announcement said that our membership will be extended by however many days the gyms are closed. But we are paying now!.
My girlfriend bought us year long memberships to 24hourfitness last year. Total was about $400. We wanted to change gyms, and stopped going to 24hour fitness about 3 months ago because we weren’t happy with the facilities.
24 Hour Fitness has made it impossible to cancel automatic payments and memberships during the Covid-19 Crisis. They have cancelled all customer support lines of communication and the gyms have rightly been closed, making it literally impossible to end automatic payments.
Go in to the venue in person and ask to cancel. When they say "only our managers can process a cancellation", call your bank WHILE STILL IN THE GYM and say "Hi, I have a dispute with a merchant over a repeat payment. I'm speaking to Dave at XYZ gym, I am in there at the moment, and they are refusing to terminate the direct debit.
