Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation - Elkins Park (formerly MossRehab) is a physical medicine and rehabilitation hospital serving the Greater Philadelphia region of Pennsylvania. The rehabilitation hospital was founded in the early 1900s and would go through a series of name changes and mergers to become Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation.
The Hospital merged with Methodist Hospital as a division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in 1996. [3] In March 2014, the Jefferson Health System was dissolved. [ 4 ] In July 2016, Aria Health and Jefferson Health System announced an official merger. [ 5 ]
She served as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Education from 1961 to 1964 and as a leader of volunteer boards and groups associated with the Philadelphia Association for Retarded Children, Moss Rehabilitation Hospital and the Committee for Philadelphia House. Mage Rehabilitation Hospital was founded in 1968 by the philanthropy of Anna Justina Magee, a fifth-generation descendant of Johann Christian and Christina Kneass who arrived in Philadelphia from Rotterdam in September 1753. Magee was born on January 21, 1843, the fourth daughter and one of seven children of James and Caroline Magee.
