Bring It On is a 2000 American teen comedy film directed by Peyton Reed (in his theatrical film directing debut) and written by Jessica Bendinger. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Jesse Bradford, and Gabrielle Union. The plot of the film centers around two high-school cheerleading teams' preparation for a national competition.
Bring It On is an anthology series of cheerleading films that began with Bring It On (2000) [1] and was followed by five direct-to-video sequels and one Halloween-themed television film sequel, [2] none of which contain any of the original film's cast members.
In the late 1990s, Dunst transitioned to leading roles in teen films, [2] such as the satirical political comedy Dick, and the Sofia Coppola-directed drama The Virgin Suicides (both released in 1999), followed by the cheerleading comedy Bring It On (2000), and the drama Crazy/Beautiful (2001).
