Kodiyil Oruvan (transl. One in a million) is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language political action drama film written and directed by Ananda Krishnan, and produced by Infiniti Film Ventures and Chendur Film International. [1] It stars Vijay Antony and Aathmika. [2] Vijay Antony also edited the film while the music is composed by Nivas K. Prasanna.
Antony has a well-known great-grandfather, Samuel Vedanayagam Pillai, who was a Tamil poet, novelist, and social worker and is remembered for his authorship of Prathapa Mudaliar Charithram, recognized as the "first modern Tamil novel." Vedanayagam's ideals of women's liberation and education are reflected in this novel.
The action sequences of the film are choreographed by Rajasekar, who earlier worked on the film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, and Mahesh Mathew, who earlier worked with Vijay Antony on Kodiyil Oruvan. Raju made his Tamil debut playing the antagonist in Sulthan (2021) [5] [6] [7] and has acted in villain roles in Kodiyil Oruvan (2021) and Yaanai (2022). Raju made his Telugu debut with Maha Samudram (2021) and his Malayalam debut with Aaraattu (2022).
The production house has already previously collaborated with Vijay Antony on the films Kodiyil Oruvan and Kolai. The film was shot in Chennai, Kolkata, Spain and Thailand.
