Kenabeek (/ ˈ k ɛ n ə ˌ b ɛ k / KEN-ə-bek [3]) is a locality and unincorporated community in geographic Henwood Township [4] in the Unorganized West Part of Timiskaming District, in northeastern Ontario, Canada. [1] The community is located on Ontario Highway 65, approximately halfway between Elk Lake and New Liskeard.
The Olde Angel Inn is one of the oldest pubs in Ontario (built in 1789 as The Harmonious Coach House). [2] It has been reported as one of the oldest buildings in Canada. Although the Inn was rebuilt after the War of 1812 , the exposed hand-hewn beams and thick plank floors laid in 1815 can still be seen. [ 3 ]

The village is 2 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles (4.0 km) southeast of Liskeard. [2] The meaning of the name is "sanctuary of Neot" (from minihi and Neot). [3] Menheniot had a population of 1,605 in the 2001 census. [4] This increased slightly to 1,655 at the 2011 census, [5] whereas the ward population at the same census was 3,658. [6]
It was created by the amalgamation of the town of New Liskeard, the town of Haileybury, and the township of Dymond in 2004. The city had a total population of 9,634 in the Canada 2021 Census. [2] Temiskaming Shores is Ontario's second-smallest city, in terms of population, after Dryden. Haileybury is the seat of Timiskaming District.
