Claymore (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi.It debuted in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Jump in June 2001, where it continued until the magazine was shut down in June 2007.

Norihiro Yagi is a successful manga artist, having won the 32nd Akatsuka Award for his first work, Undeadman. [citation needed] Undeadman appeared in Monthly Shōnen Jump and has had two sequels.
The Claymore anime series is based on the manga series of the same name by Norihiro Yagi. The episodes are directed by Hiroyuki Tanaka and produced by Madhouse Studios.
