Muhammad Dipatuan Kudarat (or Muhammad di-Pertuan Kudrat; Jawi: محمد دڤتوان كودرت ; 1581–1671) was the 7th Sultan of Maguindanao from 1619 to 1671. [1]He was a direct descendant of Shariff Kabungsuwan, a Malay-Arab noble from Johor who brought Islam to Mindanao between the 13th and 14th centuries. [2]

In 1619, the Sultanate of Buayan faced a decline due to the rise of Sultan Muhammad Kudarat of Maguindanao. Eventually, by 1634, the confederacy headed by Rajah Silongan disappeared.
