Greta Morgan Salpeter (born February 12, 1988) is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Los Angeles, CA. [1] Her career began in 2005 as singer/pianist of the Chicago-based band The Hush Sound. [2] She later formed the band Gold Motel, whose debut album was released on June 1, 2010. [3]
With tracks such as "Honey" and "Medicine Man", The Hush Sound shows influence of blues, swing, and folk. The album is different than the band's last two albums, as Greta Salpeter takes over lead vocals on nine of the thirteen tracks. The Hush Sound was founded by Greta Salpeter and Bob Morris. The two met when Greta was in 7th grade and Bob was in 10th. Bob had always been a player and performer of rock music, whereas Greta was a classical pianist. The band formed in late 2004/early 2005, while writing songs they felt worthy of publication.
