The Newmarket High school athletics teams compete in NHIAA Division IV. They have not won any recent championships but reached the finals in baseball in 2009 and in basketball from 2008–2009. The school mascot is the mule. The school colors are red and black. Rivals include Conant High School and Epping High School.
For some sports (e.g. football or ice hockey), competition is not organized based on school class, but based on divisions established by the NHIAA committee governing the individual sport. Classifications for the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons are as follows: [1]

Oct. 13—THE PLAYOFFS are almost upon us, folks. After this weekend, most NHIAA teams will have two regular-season games remaining. Division IV teams will have one game left on their schedule.
