Pearlington is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hancock County, Mississippi, United States, on U.S. Route 90, along the Pearl River, at the Louisiana state line. It is part of the Gulfport–Biloxi, Mississippi Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,684 at the 2000 census.

Once US 90 was officially shifted onto the cutoff in June 1937, [f] [11] US 11 was extended south to meet it at the present intersection of MS 604 and MS 607. [g] [14] The following year, a second cutoff was opened, placing US 90 on its current alignment between Pearlington and MS 607 west of Waveland.
The route continued onto Old US 11, crossing the site of current US 11/I-59. Old US 11 continues through the Pearl River State Wildlife Management Area to the Mississippi state line, where a bridge once crossed the Pearl River. This out-of-the-way alignment was bypassed around 1930 when the current alignment to Pearlington was constructed.
The Hancock County School District is a public school district based in the community of Kiln, Mississippi (). [1]In addition to Kiln, the district also serves the communities of Diamondhead, Pearlington, sections of Waveland and Bay St. Louis, as well as portions of rural Hancock County. [2]

MS 604 goes through the center of Pearlington, and turns north at Levee Street. The route soon travels northeast as it leaves Pearlington. MS 604 enters into larger forests for around three miles (4.8 km). About 0.5 miles (0.80 km) south of MS 607, MS 604 travels northward. The road soon ends at MS 607 at a T-intersection. [2]
