Blessed William Howard was previously a voluntary aided school administered by Staffordshire County Council, and gained specialist Arts College status in 2003. In March 2016 the school was converted to academy status , however Blessed William Howard continues to coordinate with Staffordshire County Council for admissions.
This was consulted upon and approved in the academic year for 2015–16. The uniform consists of a grey blazer with blue trim; a grey tie with orange, blue and green stripes; a shirt; plain black trousers or a knee-length skirt; and polishable black shoes. [1] The Hart school has a capacity of 1400 and currently has estimated 1300 admissions. [2]

Students at Trentham Academy are all placed into house tutor groups. A student in year 7 will therefore be placed in a tutor group composed of fellow year 7 students and a number of year 8 and 9 students forming a vertical tutor group. This enables older students to support and ‘buddy’ year 7 students in all aspects of school life. [4]
The Sixth form was founded in November 2011 and was converted to an academy on 1 August 2013 by the Landau Forte Charitable Trust. [2] The trust has opened several schools in the area, such as Landau Forte Academy QEMS and Landau Forte Academy Amington. An Ofsted report in April 2015 said that the Sixth form 'requires improvement'.
The school continues to coordinate with Staffordshire County Council for admissions. The school is colocated with The Meadows School, a mixed special school. The school operates a joint sixth form with Westwood College, the Leek Federation Sixth Form, [4] with a shuttle bus operating between the two sites.

Previously a foundation school administered by Staffordshire County Council, Wilnecote High School converted to academy status in September 2012 and became part of the Community Academy Trust in September 2016 changing its name to The Wilnecote School. The school continues to coordinate with Staffordshire County Council for admissions.
