Michael R. Norris (born October 4, 1962) is an American actor. [1] He is the eldest son of actor and martial arts champion Chuck Norris [ 2 ] and his first wife, Dianne Holechek. He starred in the 1986 drama film Born American and the 1991 action film Delta Force 3: The Killing Game .
Norris had a breakout season in 1980, going 22–9 with 24 complete games, a 2.53 earned run average and an AL-low .209 batting average against, while also earning his first Gold Glove Award. However, he was not awarded the American League Cy Young Award ; Steve Stone of the Baltimore Orioles , who had a record of 25–7, was given the honor.
The following year, Norris joined Portland Thorns FC in the National Women's Soccer League as an assistant coach. [7] [8] The team won the championship in the 2022 season, though coach Rhian Wilkinson resigned at the end of the season. [9] On 9 January 2023, Norris was appointed as head coach of the Portland Thorns. [5] [10]
