A fourth school building, the Howard Elementary School, is currently the home of the Deer Park Board of Education. Beginning in 1826 in a one-room school house, current enrollment in the Deer Park City Schools is approximately 1,500 students.
Deer Park is a neighborhood four miles southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, USA. Most of the neighborhood was developed from 1890 through the 1920s as a streetcar suburb .All but six of its 24 subdivisions being developed by 1917, and the last laid out by 1935, although some development west of Norris Place continued after World War II .

The school district is traceable to 1922, when a single elementary facility opened on Deer Park's Center Street along Highway 225. [1] In 1929, the small school (approximately 30 students) was greatly expanded, and additional facilities were created in neighboring areas. [1] The district was officially formed for the school year of 1930.
The school is in the St. Regis Park neighborhood of Louisville,Kentucky currently serves about 370 students with 35 teachers plus supporting staff. It teaches the core curriculum, in addition to art, music, computer, Physical Education and Spanish classes.
