See WP:BIO for notability standards. Research the available literature to find reliable sources. Read them carefully, taking notes. Create a proto-article in a subpage of your own user space. Right from the start, cite your sources: it's much easier to do this as you go along than to attempt to do so later.
Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict-of-interest editing and is strongly discouraged. Editing a biography about yourself is acceptable only if you are removing unambiguous vandalism or clear-cut and serious violations of our biography of living persons policy.
An article about yourself is nothing to be proud of. The neutral point of view (NPOV) policy will ensure that both the good and the bad about you will be told, that whitewashing is not allowed, and that the conflict of interest (COI) guideline limits your ability to edit out any negative material from an article about yourself.
The best place to start is the biographical articles noticeboard. Click the "New section" tag at the top ("+") (direct link) and add a note including the article title and your concerns. Watch that page for replies. (Other common places for discussion are the article's discussion page and your talk page.)

Ask yourself whether the source is reliable; whether the material is being presented as true; and whether, even if true, it is relevant to a disinterested article about the subject. Be wary of relying on sources that use weasel words and that attribute material to anonymous sources.
