Christian Life Centre Brisbane was founded in Brisbane in 1972 by Trevor Chandler and Clark Taylor.The latter left at the end of the year, [1] but this CLC grew into one of the first mega churches in Brisbane under Chandler, and later into a national and international organisation. [2]
In 1948, Commonwealth Bible College was established as the official ministry training college of Australian Christian Churches. The college moved from Melbourne to Brisbane, then to Katoomba. In 1993, under a new incorporation, the college became Southern Cross College of the Assemblies of God in Australia, simply known as Southern Cross College.
Two campuses of the Hillsong International Leadership College arose from the two churches that are now Hillsong Church, the Sydney Christian Life Centre and Hills Christian Life Centre. Both original colleges had similar goals of creating courses in ministry and leadership development based in a local church setting.
