Mitsume ga Tōru (三つ目がとおる, "The Three-Eyed One") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by legendary Japanese mangaka Osamu Tezuka. It was originally serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 7 July 1974 through 19 March 1978 and was later published into thirteen tankōbon volumes by Kodansha .
At the first Onicon, in October 2004, Matt Greenfield, the co-founder of ADV Films, announced that they had licensed the series for an English dub. [9] [10] Although the basic plot-line was kept intact in the English version, [11] ADV Films' replaced the original dialogue with a more comedic version, which made references to pop culture. [11]

The anime was successful on Italian TV in 1986 under the title Mademoiselle Anne, and a French dub of the series, Marc et Marie, aired on French TV in 1995.
