Robert Quinlan Costas (born March 22, 1952) is an American sportscaster who is known for his long tenure with NBC Sports, from 1980 through 2019.He has received 28 Emmy awards for his work [1] [2] [3] and was the prime-time host of 12 Olympic Games from 1988 until 2016.
Costa is known for his deep sourcing within national political circles. He has interviewed President Donald Trump on multiple occasions. Politico has called him the "Trump whisperer." [25] In March 2016, Costa interviewed Trump with Bob Woodward, [26] who has been a mentor to him. [27] Costa served as guest host of PBS' Charlie Rose in March 2017.
