The Nomads were founded in 1976. They added a senior team, the Western Soccer Alliance, in 1986. The club became not-for-profit in 1987. Santa Ana Winds FC played in the SoCal Premier League from 2006 to 2011 before joining the National Premier Soccer League West Region-Flight Southwest Conference, also in 2011.
