Sacred Heart Parish (Polish: Parafia Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa w New Britain) is a Catholic parish designated for Polish immigrants in New Britain, Connecticut. Founded on August 10, 1894. It is one of the oldest Polish-American Roman Catholic parishes in New England in the Archdiocese of Hartford .
The church is home to Sacred Heart Parish, part of the West Hillsborough Deanery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saint Petersburg. [4] The first Catholic parish on Florida's West Coast was established in 1860 and named St. Louis Parish in honor of Fr. Luis de Cancer, a Dominican missionary who was martyred on the shores of Tampa Bay in 1549.

Sacred Heart Parish was established in 1879. Ground was broken for the present church building in 1922, and it was completed two years later. [3] Later in 1924 the Apostolic Vicariate of North Carolina was elevated to the Diocese of Raleigh, and Sacred Heart Church became the diocesan cathedral.
In the meantime, Sacred Heart parish was founded in 1911. The cornerstone for the present church was laid in 1925. Designed by Chicago architect Charles H.
