Columbia is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) [10] located within Knowlton Township in Warren County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. While the community has existed for over a century, the CDP was created as part of the 2010 United States Census. [11] [12] [13] As of the 2010 Census, the CDP's population was 229. [14]
Knowlton Township was created as a precinct by Royal charter from portions of Oxford Township on February 23, 1763, [22] [23] while the area was still part of Sussex County, and was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798, and then became part of the newly created Warren County on November 20, 1824.
