Steven John McLaughlin (born October 2, 1971) is an American former professional football placekicker who played in the National Football League (NFL) and the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football for the Arizona Wildcats , earned All-American honors and won the Lou Groza Award .
The murder was committed in league with Nanette Johnston, McLaughlin's live-in girlfriend and Naposki's lover, so that she could collect McLaughlin's life insurance. In July 2011, Naposki was convicted of first degree murder and in August 2012, he was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
