Granny is a good-natured widow who is extremely protective of her beloved bird, Tweety. Granny's overprotectiveness becomes apparent whenever Tweety is threatened, usually by her sometimes pet, Sylvester. Although having the appearance of a kind old woman, Granny has demonstrated her cleverness in many cartoons.
Sylvester is allergic to wool and is jealous of Tweety. Tweety (voiced by Joe Alaskey) is a cute but mischievous yellow canary. Tweety is often trying to escape Sylvester by foiling him through either his flying, clever timing, or his bodyguard, Hector. Tweety usually stays with Granny and is responsible for some major clues.

Sylvester then tries posing as one of the movers...and gets Granny's piano loaded into his arms! Tweety guides Sylvester all the way up the stairs to the top floor and through a doorway, which sends Sylvester plummeting with the piano to the street below, prompting Tweety to remark: "Ooooh, dat wast step was a wuwu!"
