Vesterålen (Norwegian, pronounced [ˈvɛ̂stəroːɫn̩], [1] English: / ˈ v ɛ s t ər ɔː l ə n / VEST-ər-aw-lən [2]) or Viestterálas (Northern Sami) [3] is a district and archipelago in Nordland county, Norway. It is located just north of Lofoten and west of Harstad. It is the northernmost part of Nordland county.
The Beiar Valley [1] (Norwegian: Beiardalen) is a valley in Beiarn Municipality in Nordland, Norway. It is about 60 kilometers (37 mi) long. [2] Most of the residents of the municipality of Beiarn live in this valley. The highest parts of the southern end of the valley are located within Saltfjellet–Svartisen National Park.
