The term "arts décoratifs" was invented in 1875 to give designers of furniture, textiles, and other decoration official status. The Société des artistes décorateurs (Society of decorative artists), or SAD, was founded in 1901, and decorative artists were given the same rights of authorship as painters and sculptors.

Hotel des Artistes is a historic residential building located at 1 West 67th Street, near Central Park West, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. [1] Completed in 1917, the ornate 17-story, 119-unit Gothic-style building has been home to a long list of writers, artists, and politicians over the years.
In 1924, Mallet-Stevens published a magazine called La Gazette Des 7 Arts and at the same time with the help of Ricciotto Canudo founded the Club des amis du 7ème art.A Paris street in the 16th arrondissement, Rue Mallet-Stevens, was built by him in the 1920s and has on it six houses designed by him.
In 1900, he designed the official medals for the 1900 Summer Olympics held in Paris. [3] These medals are unique in being the only Olympic medals to be rectangular rather than the traditional circular design. Member of the Société des artistes français since 1896, he was elected member of the Académie des beaux-arts in 1909. [4]
The following year, she became a member of the Société des Artistes Français and obtained a scholarship to study in Spain. Back in Paris, she exhibited the works she had produced and received excellent critical acclaim. By 1905, she was a well-established artist; working with Edmond Rostand and decorating his "Villa Arnaga " in Cambo-les-Bains.
