The metric in Kruskal–Szekeres coordinates covers all of the extended Schwarzschild spacetime in a single coordinate system. Its chief disadvantage is that in those coordinates the metric depends on both the time and space coordinates.

Timelike and spacelike coordinates interchange because, in the Swarzschild metric, a minus sign shows up when you cross the event horizon. However, using the words "space" and "time" to talk about the interior of a black hole is inherently confusing, because providing a coordinate system is confusing.
