The Vandals formed in 1980 in Huntington Beach, California, by guitarist Jan Nils Ackermann. [3] Soon vocalist Steven Ronald "Stevo" Jensen (1959 – August 21, 2005) [4] was found and he and Ackermann practiced and performed with a rotating cast of other members before a permanent lineup coalesced to include bassist Steve "Human" Pfauter and drummer Joe Escalante.
Steven Ronald "Stevo" Jensen (April 29, 1959 – August 21, 2005) was an American musician and an original founding member of The Vandals, alongside Jan Nils Ackermann.The band was based out of Huntington Beach, California, United States.
He joined The Vandals in 1980 and played bass guitar on their debut EP, Peace thru Vandalism. Pfauter designed T-shirts for T.S.O.L. and created artwork for the Dead Kennedys. He also played bass in the original Los Angeles punk rock band Detox, making two full-length albums which featured six songs he wrote while touring the US and Canada.
The album was re-released in 1989 in CD format along with the band's debut EP Peace thru Vandalism as Peace Thru Vandalism / When in Rome Do as The Vandals. The CD version was released by Restless Records (later reissued by Time Bomb Recordings) and correctly lists the song titles as described above.
Fear of a Punk Planet is the third album by the southern California punk rock band The Vandals, originally released in 1990 by Triple X Records.It was their first album to include the lineup of Dave Quackenbush, Warren Fitzgerald, Joe Escalante and Josh Freese, solidifying the band's roster after several years of fluctuation.
The Shingo Japanese Remix Album was released in 2005, made up of remixes of Vandals songs by Japanese DJ Shingo Asari. The band's most recent release is the compilation BBC Sessions and Other Polished Turds, a digital-only release through iTunes and Kung Fu in 2008.
