Berea College is a private liberal arts work college in Berea, Kentucky. Founded in 1855, Berea College was the first college in the Southern United States to be coeducational and racially integrated. [5] It was integrated from as early as 1866 until 1904, and again after 1954. [6]
The following is a list of colleges and universities in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.Kentucky also has two early entrance to college programs, for academically gifted high school juniors and seniors, that allows the students to take college credits while finishing high school.
The program is a five-week program over the summer for students between their junior and senior years of high school. It is held at three different colleges across the commonwealth of Kentucky every year. The program is highly competitive with about a 50% acceptance rate.
