The 6G7 series or Cyclone V6 engine is a series of V6 piston engines from Mitsubishi Motors. Five displacement variants were produced from 1986 to 2021, with both SOHC and DOHC , naturally aspirated and turbo charged layouts.

Mitsubishi 6G7 engine The Mitsubishi 6B3 engine is a range of all-alloy piston V6 engines developed by Mitsubishi Motors . Currently, only one engine has been developed, a 3.0 L (2,998 cc) V6 first introduced in the North American version of the second generation Mitsubishi Outlander which debuted in October 2006.
The Heijinggang was available with four engines, the 2.2-litre 4RB3 based on the 2RZ-FE engine from Toyota, the popular 2.4-litre 4G64 engine and 6G72 V6 from both Mitsubishi and a 2.5-litre turbo diesel. All engines were paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox. The 4 speed automatic was only available on the 2002 Heijinggang with the V6 engine.
6G73 engines were also fitted with DOCH heads between 94-96 before introducing the economical 24v SOCH heads . As with the range of the 6G7 family block architecture was identical except the bore, Thus making it easy to swap DOCH heads in place of the original SOCH heads. The whole range of the 6G7 family can retrofit a DOCH head from any model.
