N. Mohanan (27 April 1933 – 3 October 1999) was a Malayalam-language short story writer and novelist from Kerala, India.He was awarded the Nalapadan Award (Nalapaddan Memorial Cultural Society, Kunnathur, Punnayurkulam) in 1991 for his short story Sheshapathram.
Since then she has published five collections of short stories, two novellas, five novels and two children's books. She won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2009 for her short-story, Ave Maria. [1] Her novel Aarachaar (2012) is widely regarded as one of the best literary works produced in Malayalam language.
Four of Chandran's stories have been adapted into films. [1] Based on the story "Vadhakramam", Pune Film Institute produced a short film that won a special jury mention in Rio de Janeiro Film Festival. The Malayalam feature film Laptop is an adaptation of the short story "Parudeesa Nashtam". [5]
