The administrative divisions of the Dodoma Municipality are 4 divisions, 37 wards, 39 villages, 100 Mitaa, and 222 hamlets. There is only one electoral district, Dodoma Urban. The chief executive of the council is the Council Executive Director (DED), who is chosen by the Minister in charge of Local Government.
Dodoma (lit. ' It has sunk ' in Gogo), officially Dodoma City (Jiji Kuu la Dodoma, in Swahili), is the capital of Tanzania [3] and the administrative capital of both Dodoma Municipal Council and the entire Dodoma Region, with a population of 765,179.

According to one estimate, Dodoma district alone saw 30,000 deaths, or nearly one in every five people. Many people migrated.
Dodoma Makulu is an administrative ward in the Dodoma Urban district of the Dodoma Region of Tanzania. In 2016 the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 18,582 people in the ward, from 17,097 in 2012.
It is bordered to the north by Manyara Region, to the east by Morogoro Region, to the south by Mpwapwa District, and to the west by Chamwino District. Its district capital is the town of Kongwa . Kodoa Town is 1,419 square kilometres (548 sq mi), with the town being 160 kilometres (99 mi) from Dodoma. [2] The town has a hot spring that provides drinking water for many inhabitants. There is also a river that runs through the town, though in the dry months there is almost no water above ground. There is a good bridge over the river.
