China Beach is an American dramatic television series set at a military evacuation hospital during the Vietnam War. The title refers to the Western nickname for My Khe beach, located on the coast of Da Nang, Vietnam. The ABC TV drama aired for four seasons over three years, from 1988 to 1991.

Dana Delany (born March 13, 1956) [1] is an American actress. After appearing in small roles early in her career, Delany received her breakthrough role as Colleen McMurphy on the ABC television drama China Beach (1988–1991), for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1989 and 1992.
In 1989, Wells was promoted to supervising producer of the third season of China Beach and wrote three of that season’s episodes. In 1990, he returned as a co-executive producer of the show’s fourth (and final) season, and was involved in writing 11 of that season’s episodes, including the series finale.
Helgenberger is also known for playing the role of K.C. Koloski in the ABC drama China Beach (1988–91), which earned her the 1990 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
