Burley (/ ˈ b ʊ r l iː /) is a city in Cassia and Minidoka counties in southern Idaho, United States. The population was 11,704 at the 2020 census , [ 4 ] up from 10,345 in 2010 . The city is the county seat of Cassia County .
The Thompson Mortuary Chapel, now Demaray's Gooding Chapel, is a historic building in Gooding, Idaho, designed by Tourtellotte & Hummel. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was built in 1939 for A. E. Thompson of Gooding as a home for his furniture and undertaking business.

Minidoka County is a county located in the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2020 census, the population was 21,613. [1] The county seat and largest city is Rupert. [2] Minidoka County is part of the Burley, ID Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name Minidoka is of Dakota Sioux origin meaning "a fountain or spring of water."
Though born in Burley, Congressman Simpson now lives in Idaho Falls. The only other member of congress with ties to the county is Henry Dworshak who represented Idaho's 2nd congressional district and later served in the Senate. He lived in Burley and was the publisher of the Burley Bulletin. A Burley elementary school is named after him.
From 2012 to 2016 he served in the Idaho House of Representatives representing District 23 in the B seat. Nielsen was born in Burley, Idaho on March 15, 1938, [ 2 ] and died in Mountain Home, Idaho on July 21, 2019, at the age of 81.
