Millard was laid out in 1870 by Ezra Millard, and named for him. [1] A post office was established in Millard in 1873, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1967. [2] The town was incorporated in 1885. [1] After lengthy legal fights, the town of Millard was annexed by the city of Omaha in 1971. [3]

The Grand Court of the 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition was located in Kountze Place on the current site of Kountze Park in North Omaha. The USS Hazard is a National Historic Landmark located in Freedom Park.
The Nebraska State Historical Society Building is a historic two-story building in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was built by Olson Construction in 1953 to house the Nebraska State Historical Society, founded in 1878. [2] It was designed in the Moderne style by architect Ellery Lothrop Davis. [2]
