This is a list of universities in the United States that sponsored football at one time but have since discontinued their programs. The last season that the school fielded a football team is included. Schools are split up based on their current athletics affiliation. The affiliation of the football team while it was active may have been different.
Aaron Roosevelt Rouse (born January 8, 1984) is an American politician and former professional football player. A member of the Democratic Party, Rouse represents the 22nd district in the Senate of Virginia. [1] He previously served on the Virginia Beach City Council.

Virginia is the winningest team in Duke's Mayo Bowl history with a 3–0 record after its victories in 2002, 2003, and 2018. Virginia also holds the record for largest margin of victory in that bowl after its 28–0 shutout victory over South Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in 2018.
