Cynthia Aguilar Villar (Tagalog pronunciation:, born Cynthia Ampaya Aguilar on July 29, 1950) [1] is a Filipina politician currently serving as a Senator of the Philippines. She was a member of the House of Representatives for the Lone District of Las Piñas from 2001 to 2010 before winning a seat in the Senate in 2013, placing tenth.
Camella was founded by Manuel B. Villar, Jr. in August 1977. Villar took out a seven-year loan from a rural bank offering low interest rates then kick-started building and selling at his first project, Camella Homes Phase 1 and 2 in Las Piñas, with 160 units initially.
In response to the needs of the rising population growth rate, Republic Act No. 9240, whose principal sponsor was Representative Cynthia Villar was approved on February 10, 2004. The Act provided for the increase in bed capacity of the Las Piñas District Hospital from fifty (50) to two hundred (200) beds.
