I currently work in a Magnolia Home Theater in Best Buy and thoroughly enjoy it and have learned a ton (going to school full time as well). I have purchased gear from local dealers as well as Magnolia but I often see negative posts about it on here. In my experience, I think it is a great place to go and my clients have always been very happy ...
Magnolia home theater and the Magnolia Design Center are going to be two different entities. If you say you are waiting on a quote it sounds like you are referring to MDC however you'd be hard pressed to find a 5.1 system for $600 in MDC. If you have any more information i'd be happy to help you out.

SVS also he said is amazing. Martin Logan is what he says he may have gotten but it is a little more pricy than the others.
I used to work at a Magnolia Home Theater, which is like the mini version of a full Magnolia Design Centers. Basically, we didn't carry the extreme high-ends. No McIntosh, no B&W Diamonds, no Signature Series Martin Logans, etc and we were physically inside a Best Buy, not stand alone.

My experience: Demo at Magnolia/Best Buy. So I decided to go to Best Buy today for absolutely no reason. Just due to boredom. The first place I went to was the Magnolia section. I went inside one of the demo rooms. There was a projector screen playing Godzilla: King of the Monsters on one side. The other side had an OLED TV playing the usual ...
